At Nature’s Point, our unique location allows us to take advantage of the many wonderful learning opportunities that nature provides.
We aim to explore Kirk’s Bush with our children as often as possible – rain or shine! The bush provides many learning opportunities – both intentional and accidental – where the children can learn to take risks, overcome fears, make new friends, regulate emotions and create imaginary worlds as well as learn the importance of caring for our natural environment. Our national early childhood education curriculum TeWhāriki encourages an understanding of kaitiakitanga or guardianship by allowing opportunities for children to have the responsibilities of being a kaitiaki by caring for rivers, native forest and birds.
