Ko te piko o te māhuri, tērā te tupu o te rākau
The way the sapling is shaped determines how the tree grows
Connected deeply and richly to the natural environment, Nature’s Point aims to provide a safe, secure and a quality environment, filled with opportunities for children to explore. Our team aims to bring joy in everyday learning and ignite children’s imaginations that extends beyond the four walls.
Our teachers consciously choose to focus on practices and teaching strategies that promote and offer meaningful connections with land and nature. Our curriculum promotes the joy of being in nature and want our tamariki to understand risk and confidence, love and protection, care and respect in their daily experiences. It is significant for our spaces to be filled with natural resources and loose parts in order to be flexible and open to change that help children weave their own magic through a little bit of imagination .
Our team is passionate about providing a responsive curriculum that allows self- discovery and encourages collaboration, problem solving and exploration along with being challenged, creative and expressive. Our programmes are underpinned by TeWhāriki( The New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum ). The team intertwines the Māori cultural values and TeTiriti within its everyday ways of being, knowing and doing.
